On the difference between a doodle and a timeless experience
Hi everyone -
I had a conversation this week that changed my direction.
I was talking to a friend about Mandalafy, and I discovered that he didn't really know what a mandala was. It was a simple, honest moment, but it was a lightning bolt. It reminded me that we don't all see the world through the same lens. The rich context I had in my head, including their history and their use as tools for focus and centering, was invisible to him.
Mandalas are an ancient, universal form of human expression. Tibetan monks create them from sand as a meditation on impermanence. Carl Jung saw them as a window into the subconscious. Across cultures, they are a path to centering the mind.

Imagine what you will create
In that moment, my mission expanded. I’m not just the builder of this tool. I’m becoming its guide.
This realization has been invigorating because it’s about more than giving technical instructions. It’s about framing the entire experience. It’s about sharing the "why." While a digital tool can be quick and experimental, it can also be slow and meditative. You can zoom in, focus on the intricate details, and enter that same state of mindful creation that has appealed to people for centuries.
This is why I’ve decided to start offering free, one-on-one sessions to personally introduce people to the tool and website. The most valuable thing I can offer isn't just the software, but the perspective and connection that come from a personal conversation.
Interested? Here’s a link to the new “personal tour“ page at Mandalafy.
I'm excited to connect with people in this way and to see the unique, meaningful designs you'll create when you have both the "how" and the "why."
Until next time,
Dan Ryan
