Never Too Late for Good Decisions

On 2nd chances & the power of the present moment

Hi, Everyone -

Once I truly recognized the power of the internet, I felt like I was late to the party.

I saw people who started early on blogging, new business models, or even online investing. They got a foot in the door to a world of endless opportunities, and they benefited greatly. Meanwhile, I had held back, shying away from being active online. (Though I was doing other things - painting, having fun, working, living my unique life).

Was I really late?

There's a feeling that comes with recognizing the power of a big opportunity... just a little too late. From one vantage point, the feeling is justified. The internet is much more saturated with content and competition. It's easy to feel like you've missed the boat.

But there are more parties and new boats.

A new wave has arrived with AI. This is where I'm trying to be early: in embracing AI as a partner to learn and to build. For example, I hardly know how to code, but with AI, I can make what I want. I can translate ideas into something tangible.

This isn't just about code; it's about capacity. This is a huge opportunity AI presents to all of us. It’s a tool that empowers us to go beyond our old ways of thinking and envision new possibilities, projects and paths aligned with what success means to us. It gives us the power to research, conceptualize, and implement to make dreams happen.

The same goes for learning. With the internet and AI combined, we have more information at our fingertips than ever before about how to improve our lives, from our health to our work. The potential is immense, and I’m optimistic.

This view led me to a shift in perspective, and a question I now ask myself all the time: What's the best decision I can make right now?

That leads to another logical question: how do we choose good decisions and build positive habits that compound over time?

It’s a point of view that drives how I invest in my days: taking time to walk, exercise, eat well, learn, create content, and talk to the people I love.

I'm also recognizing that choices made for long-term outcomes often give more life and wellness in the short term. It's a win-win.

I reject the idea that we're "too old to learn." Quite the opposite: with age, we can leverage wisdom to build the systems that serve us best.

This shift has been invigorating. It’s a powerful reminder that while we can't change the past, it's never too late to make good decisions.

Until next time,

Dan Ryan
